Week 1, Introductory Workshop, 31-07-2007
In today’s lecture we were given the outline of the UPC0004 course. This includes the outline of each module and how long they run for. We were also introduced to the three assessments, which go towards our end of semester grade and also found out how much the three assessments are worth. We were also warned by Justin Freeman about the type of language we use in our email to her and other lectures and also not to use blackboard as email recourses as it does not work. In your emails, it should include a way to identify you. Using your full name or even your identification number could do this.The was workshop about setting up a blogger account.
First, go to http://www.blogger.com/ and sign up and select "create your own blog now."
Now place your details in the boxes provided and make sure your write it down somewhere just in case you forget some time down the track.

Now your blogger is correctly set up.
Setting up your Imagae shack account so that you can access pictures from your computer. First you need to go to http://www.imageshack.us/ and sign up.
Fill in the details that are required in the boxes that are provided.

When done and completed correctly comes up with "successful and an email sent which includes your password. The email that is sent contains a path to http://www.imageshack.us/ which able you to change the password that was provided.

Now image Shack is correctly created.
The two programs are used to create blogs. The blogs are to include a heading, which incorporates the week title, title of the workshop and the date. Blogs also have a summary of the lecture and evidence of the tasks in workshops is completed. Blogs are to be done each week and will be checked on week 6 and 13.
The first reading is about different parts and aspects of the computer. This is tells you about different components of the computer and different software and hard ware that are capable of connecting to the computer. To find out more information on the topic just click on the name as it is a link. The second reading is about the computer. It has diagrams and actually video player to show you different parts of the computer. It describes some of the parts but this is only a little bit of a whole computer.
